I was thinking we could start referral system. For example, lets say user A reffers user B who gets premium subscription, then user A gets +10% of the bandwidth for user B for a month or two. So if User B gets VIP Gold, user A gets his current subscription + 10% bonus bandwidth of VIP Gold aswell! What do you think of the idea?

for a referral system to work, i would think a considerable increase in subscription packages is necessary. but i don't know much (if anything) of how referral systems work...so I wouldn't be too keen on it atm.
the main thing that annoys me would be too much dependance on the forum for everything...members,referrals,upgrades etc when it's probably easier if we found a different system, although it's probably the only way atm, and probably a lot easier than coding the system!

probably i saw many "probably" in the above post! O.o
anyway.. it's just a method of attracting people, coz people would be very interested in that 10% or 20% bandwidth that they get by referring a premium member!
.. but considering the case that most of the people here are normal downloaders, erm there maybe some issues!

Just passed by this...Here's my thought on this:
Assuming member A referred Member B who bought VIP. He gets some credits (Referral Count) in his account on the forum, lets say 1 Referral. - It will be easier to code the system, e.g. 1 Credit - 1 GB. So an option on the Gen to redeem those credits would be good. There is a referral MOD for IPB3 if am not wrong, linking that particular field of "referral count" or something like that to the Gen script would be easier than setting up a whole system for referrals.

Apparently IP.Nexus (the new subscription management system for IPB) contains some sort of referral system. I was thinking about waiting til I try that, before using one of the referral mods for IPB.
